Private Training for Aggressive Dogs
Is your dog’s behavior scaring you?
Are you feeling stressed, overwhelmed, like there’s no way you’ll get this dog under control?
I’m here to help you go from grinding teeth to feeling relief.
Dogs have lots of big feelings and their actions are probably causing you a lot of stress too! My goal is to help you and your dog navigate these complex emotions leaving both of you relaxed and confident in and out of your home.
I’ll make the training process as simple as possible to ensure everyone is successful at the end of our journey. Whether your dog prevents you from having guests over, won't let you touch them or is fighting with housemates; my goal is to help everyone in the home feel safe.
Problems I Can Help With
Barking & Lunging on Leash
Aggression Towards Humans
Aggression Towards Dogs
Resource Guarding
Territorial Aggression
And Much More!
Step 1
Initial Consultation & Assessment
This is where I get to know you and your dog(s). We’ll go over your struggles, goals for training and start with the first steps of your training and management plans.
All initial consultations are virtual via Google Meet.
Step 2
Regular Training
We’ll meet every 1-2 weeks to work on your dog’s rehabilitation and your management skills to ensure everyone is feeling comfortable in the home and out in public.
Home-schooling is available for resource guarding and dog-directed reactivity cases. Not available for any human-directed reactivity or aggression. If you’re interested in home-schooling we can discuss this option during your initial consultation.
The number of sessions you and your dog need will vary case-by-case. I start all clients with 6 training sessions. Additional training may be required after your initial training package.
Step 3
No more worry!
You’ve put in the work and helped your dog through some challenging times. You understand each other better and know how to prevent issues from arising in the future. Everyone is happier, safer and living their best life!
Note
Since every dog is an individual I cannot guarantee successful rehabilitation for every dog. Some cases may require tight life-long management.
Training Includes:
Private instruction online via Google Meet
In each training session, I will walk you through the training exercises your dog needs. I’ll demonstrate training exercises with one of my dogs during virtual training and have you practice live with yours. Live coaching ensures you and your dog will make progress between training sessions.
Detailed homework after every training session
Your dog is an individual, which means their training plan will vary from another dog’s. After every training session, I’ll email your customized homework instructions, including training exercises, any management that needs put in place, any gear or enrichment I recommend and veterinary referrals if necessary.
Unlimited support between training sessions
I’m here to support you during the entire training process. This includes unlimited Q&A via email or text during business days. I encourage clients to send me videos to review and I will provide feedback and next training steps if your dog is ready.
Are you ready for a stress-free life with your dog?
Rebecca & Gus
“I needed some help with my fearful and reactive dog and working with Erin was such a great experience. She taught me how to expose my dog to his triggers in a controlled setting and keep him under threshold as he learned. She was so supportive and tailored our training to exactly what we needed. This is not a one-size-fits-all program! I am so thrilled with the progress that we've made and highly recommend Erin and Raising Pawtential!”
Cindy & Josie
“When Erin took on Josie, she had been traumatized, being bit and attacked. She would go after small dogs and run away screaming from bigger dogs…
With living on a corner we get a lot of people walking their dogs by our house. Since working with Erin, she basically ignores them. If she does bark it’s a regular calm bark. Not a mean loud aggressive bark.”
Training Methods
All training is force-free and rewards-based. Food will be the primary tool we use to train your dog.
If you are using any training collars or correction techniques with your dog, you will be required to cease using them as part of our training protocol. These methods actually increase aggression in dogs, therefore are a liability risk and will prevent your dog from successful rehabilitation. If you need help finding gear for walks I am happy to email you some harness recommendations.
